MSC CHALLENGES
To conduct highly relevant, efficient, and translatable stem cell research you need affordable, fast proliferating and stable cells. As primary cells, mesenchymal stromal cells (MSCs) are expensive, rare, and perform best shortly after isolation. Moreover, most MSCs are isolated in serum-containing medium, which overstimulates the cells and thereby reduces their proliferative speed and differentiation potential.
OUR SOLUTION
denovoCELLS MSCs are isolated and expanded in serum-free medium. They proliferate fast (≤50 h doubling time) over multiple passages while maintaining their MSC-specific characteristics and a high differentiation potential. Our proprietary technology allows us to provide you with young (population doubling 4-6) and high-quality cells at a very low price to support your stem cell research.
TESTIMONIALS
Dr. Manja Wobus is the group leader of the Stem Cell Research lab at Dresden University Hospital. Her research focuses on the interactions of different cell types in the human adult bone marrow niche under healthy and pathological conditions. In this video Dr. Wobus talks about her work with MSCs and explains the importance of standardized cell culture protocols for improved comparability in research and clinical translation.

Serum-free isolation and expansion.
denovoCELLS Mesenchymal Stromal Cells are isolated from human bone marrow mononuclear cells using the isoMATRIX in combination with serum-free medium. Isolated cells were further expanded on myMATRIX MSC to a population doubling level (PDL) of 4-6 and cryopreserved in animal component-free, defined cryopreservation medium. The unique alliance of GMP-produced, serum-free expansion and cryopreservation medium and chemically defined biomatrices enabled the manufacturing of MSCs with high proliferation and differentiation potential.
Characteristic phenotype and identity.
denovoCELLS MSC show a typical fibroblast-like, spindle-shaped morphology and conform to the minimal criteria defined by the International Society for Cell and Gene Therapy (ISCT) for hMSC identity for cell surface marker: Over 95% of denovoCELLS hMSCs are positive for CD73, CD90, CD105 and CD44 while being negative for CD11b, CD14, CD34 and CD45 (≤ 2%).
